We're all infected with a spiritual disease. Its name is shame. Whether we realize it or not, shame affects every aspect of our life and work. It seeks to destroy our identity in Christ, replacing it with a twisted version of self that results in hiding, faking, fear, and broken relationships.
But God has personally done something about our shame. He is telling a different story for your life.
Dr. Thompson is a psychiatrist in private practice in Falls Church, Virginia. Speaking on his book, The Soul of Shame, he will examine how our shame keeps us from being engaged in relationships, community and vocation. He'll encourage us to find freedom in Christ by learning the truth about who He is and who we are as His redeemed people.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information please go to WEPC Soul of Shame or email Kevin Greene.

Join Us As We Love Our Community
On Rise Richmond we send groups all over our city to partner with organizations to meet some of their needs. It’s an opportunity to serve together, connect intentionally, become educated on different organizations and discover ways to get involved.
We want to provide a way for all people to participate whether they can attend March 25 or not. Below are items you can donate that will be used for a variety of projects. All items are due back by March 18 and can be dropped off at The Byrd.
- 3:1 Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash
- Solid Antiperspirant
- Adult Toothbrush
- Books of various kinds for Little Libraries around the city *NO magazines or textbooks
We'll gather 7pm at Movement Church. Cost is $5 to cover food and drinks.
This will be a great time to connect with other men, learn from and encourage each other, and then have a good time hanging out and playing games, etc. The Bible tells us that we are made for relationship, and Solomon tells us that men sharpen men like iron sharpens iron. You don't want to miss this!
We're doing something special on Sunday, April 29. Area 10 will worship outside The Byrd and take our service down the street to the Amphitheater at Dogwood Dell. We'll have ONE service that day at 11 AM. Bring a chair or blanket, pack a lunch and bring a friend. It's going to be a great day at The Dell!
We're having our Sponsor An Orphan event in the Lobby at The Byrd. Just stop by the table in the Lobby after either service and make a donation to make it possible for a child to go to a summer camp with our team, help with supplies for camp and even help with a new kindergarten our ministry partner GVI has started at the orphanage. Check, cash or credit card will be accepted. It's a great way to partner with our mission in Vietnam!
Virginia Blood Services will be at Area 10 from 8:30am- 2pm in a Bloodmobile. Join us as we partner with them to help save lives. If you are willing and able to give blood, please sign up below.
