All 4th & 5th graders are invited to the annual Preteen Convention for a weekend of fun, Superheroes, games and messages about having courage! This event takes place at Fairmount Christian Church in Mechanicsville on March 3 & 4 and the cost for the weekend is $100.  This includes an overnight at a nearby hotel, all meals and transportation.

There are two fun challenges for the weekend: the Art Project and the Scripture Memorization Challenge.  The Art Project involves creating a comic strip based on the theme verse, Joshua 1:9, or theme "Calling All Superheroes." the memorization challenge will be to memorize Joshua 1:9, Philippians 4:8 and Ephesians 6:10-11 (all in the NIV translation). Prizes are awarded for both challenges!

This year's mission project for the Convention is "Sole Hope" who create simple shoes to protect children in Africa from devastating illness and injury. We're asking for everyone to bring a missions offering ($7 is the suggested amount) AND any denim jeans your family may be willing to contribute.  The jeans can be any size, color or pattern but should not contain any lycra or spandex or be overly-tattered. At the convention, kids will cut and assemble materials to be sent to Africa where they will be sewn and distributed.

Please sign up here before February 11th. Registrations after that date may not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

This is always a really fun event and is a great way to encourage your preteen in their faith journey! Hope to see you all there!
