Chris Barras grew up just north of Tampa, Florida, and attended Cincinnati Christian University. After several years in ministry, Chris and his wife Abby moved to Richmond in January 2006. Chris began working full time at Starbucks and part time with a church plant in Short Pump. In March 2008, Chris left those jobs to launch Area 10 Faith Community. Today -- when he's not working for the church -- Chris enjoys NFL football, golf, soccer, music, reading, and playing with his family.
Tommy has spent most of his life living in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he met his wife Ashley. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Over the past 15 years, Tommy has led worship in a variety of churches and events as well as being involved in the starting two church plants. In January 2012, he and his family moved to Richmond to serve at Area 10 as the Creative Arts Pastor. When not serving at Area 10, Tommy spends as much time as he can with his wife Ashley and his daughters Eden, Emmeline, Vera, and Lucy. He loves movies, gaming, exploring, and anything sports.
Jamie grew up in Richmond after moving from South Carolina when she was in elementary school. She’s a graduate of VCU with a Master of Teaching and BS in Mass Communications and has taught all ages in daycare, private nannying, public and private schools and through previous staff ministry experiences for over 20 years. She and her husband, Todd, have two daughters, Ellie & Maggie. Jamie enjoys doing anything with her family, reading, playing tennis and taking naps when she has free time. Jamie is excited to serve in such a vibrant community of faith who express their love of God by loving one another and the city beyond reason!
Chris”topher” grew up in the jungles of Southern California where his love of tacos, Disney, and pop culture gave him all the information he needed to succeed. Topher gave his life to Christ and a year later was attending Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO. He moved to New Orleans to work as an associate pastor and outreach director where he met his wife Leanne. Over the years, Topher and Leanne’s journey took them to Southern CA, New Orleans, Nashville. and finally to RVA. Topher enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, Isabella, hiking, movies, maple syrup, cooking, maple candy, comics, reading, slurpees, maple cookies, and history.
Landon grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he met his best friend and wife, Jo Beth. He graduated from Mid Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, NC and now works full time for Student Ministries of Virginia. He has played in many different capacities in bands and on worship teams over the past 8 years and is skilled at playing drums, bass guitar, and piano. However, his first love will always be leading people in song behind an acoustic guitar. Landon enjoys songwriting, long distance running, video & board games, all Cleveland sports (ouch), and spending time exploring Richmond with his wife and two sons, Liam and Nolan.
Rachel Woolard, Director of Communications & Operations
Rachel grew up in Cary, NC and received a degree in Media Communications from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN. After graduating, she was the Media Arts intern at Area 10 for a year and fell in love with the church and Richmond and decided to stay and worked as the Director of Media for Waypoint Church Partners for for over seven years. She married Zach in 2013 and moved to Lynchburg to get a second degree in Graphic Design from Liberty University. Now, she is so excited to be back in RVA and serve on staff at Area 10.
