Join us Sundays at 9:30 or 11
at The Byrd Theatre
Our weekly worship services take place at 9:30am and 11:00am, inside the historic Byrd Theatre at 2908 W. Cary Street, in the heart of the Carytown district. We love that we get to worship each week in this beautiful Richmond landmark!
Our worship is the same at both services, so feel free to choose whatever time works best for you. The music style ranges anywhere from re-orchestrated hymns, to acoustic singer-songwriter, to modern rock. There is no dress code.
Our Welcome Table is available on the platform in the back of the theatre before and after each service for guests to ask questions, get connected into events or small groups, and meet the staff. If you are looking for more information about what is happening at Area 10, the Welcome Table is a great place to start!

What can I expect on a Sunday?
If you come to Area 10 on a Sunday morning you can expect a few things...
We want to create an environment where followers of Christ are challenged to grow in their faith, but in a way that anyone can understand. No matter where you're at in your faith journey, there is a place for you here. Everything we do centers around Jesus and the Bible.
Our services are held at The Byrd Theatre, an amazing art-deco space with inspiring decor and the occasional sticky spot on the floor and broken seat. (Which is part of why we love it here.) Even though the space is dressed up with chandeliers and murals, you don't need to get dressed up to come. There's also a free parking deck behind The Byrd on Colonial Street and street parking around Carytown on Sunday mornings.
We offer two identical services at 9:30 and 11 AM that typically last 70 minutes. The service begins with our band leading songs comprised of ancient and modern hymns in a refreshing way. Following the music, we hear a message from the pastor that is both biblical and practical. Finally, we celebrate communion together. During this time people are invited to come forward and take bread and juice that represents the body and blood of Christ. Everyone is welcome to come forward during this time or remain at their seats and listen to the music, reflect on the day's message or share prayer requests with volunteers waiting at the back of the theatre.
How can I get plugged into the community at A10?
While Sunday mornings are a great time to come together to worship, sometimes it can be easy to get lost in the crowd. We have lots of different avenues for you to start meeting people and cultivate your own community at Area 10. Here a few ways to start:
Sign Up for a Starting Point Class - Starting Point is an 9-session small group conversation about faith. Whether you're new to faith, curious about God, or coming back to church after some time away, it's a place where your opinions and beliefs are valued and no question is off limits. This includes video teaching, personal reflection questions and group discussion. We will launch new groups monthly (except December).
Join a Small Group - Our small groups start up in the Spring and Fall of each year. These groups are a great way to connect in community while also continuing go grow in your faith and meet in homes throughout the week in different parts of the city.
Register for A10 University - When we don’t have small groups going on, we offer Area 10 University. These four-week classes are more of a teaching seminar format than our typical small groups and provide a wealth of information about faith, relationships, and the Bible.

We know how important it is to raise kids in an environment that supports and encourages the development of their faith. That’s why we have kid-friendly programming that teaches them biblical concepts in an age-appropriate way.
Area 10 Kids
A10 Kids is specifically designed for children from birth through elementary school and takes place on Sunday mornings during adult worship services. Our infants and toddlers are at Cartwheels & Coffee, while our Preschool through Elementary aged kids enjoy age-appropriate learning opportunities at 2810: a community gathering place, just a few doors down from The Byrd. Each A10 Kids class is developmentally driven and includes: a teaching time, music, games and crafts to help kids explore and experience Jesus in an environment that is safe, fun and biblical. Our trained (and screened) team members reflect the love of God by providing great care for kids while their parents learn in The Byrd Theatre. A computerized check-in and a paging system supports being in a different location.
Area 10 students
A10 Students programming takes place primarily on Sunday nights and fosters an environment for middle and high school students to make the Christian faith their own. Our teen-appropriate curriculum uses biblical teaching to apply to the unique challenges and peer pressure they face every single day.
At A10 Kids, it's our goal to provide environments where kids can encounter God and families are encouraged and equipped in leading their children in a growing relationship with Jesus. We see our role as coming alongside the family as they lead their families in spiritual ways. As we partner together through weekly programs, special events and resources we value the trust you place in us. Through our weekly program on Sunday mornings, we support children as they experience, explore and engage their faith.
This means “worship.” For our preschool and elementary kids this looks like a large group time where all school agers meet together for upbeat, active music that allows them to understand and express their love for God as well as a large group lesson that is both engaging and entertaining! For our nursery kids their morning is filled with music and “God talk” (language that reinforces simple trust and faith concepts).
Kids will explore the Bible through fun activities while building relationships with leaders and friends, learning to apply spiritual truth to their lives during small group time. These activities are designed for the various developmental levels, learning styles and different needs of all kids.
Walking together in faith everyday is primarily the family’s role. However, we see it as our honor to provide you resources and encouragement in this task. As your family begins to serve others outside your home, please consider one of our church-wide, family-friendly projects.

A10 STUDENT MINISTRY
The A10 Student Ministry provides the opportunity for our middle and high school students to start and continue their faith journey. On Sunday mornings this includes students worshipping with their family at the Byrd in one of our services.
As relationships are fundamental to faith development of students, we offer a program on Sunday nights from 5:00-6:30 PM at 2810 W. Cary Street where those relationships, both with adults and peers, can be fostered. Through large group teaching and small group discussions students can answer their questions about faith and apply those truths to their own lives. There’s also a fair amount of games, music, snacks, and laughter!

Students need outlets to voice their praise and prayers to God and this happens in both corporate and individual ways. A10 Students provides a worship time each week that features live music and singing as well as intentional times of prayer and reflection.
