Valentines Day can be a lonely holiday, especially for seniors who are disconnected from their loved ones. Join us after church on Sunday, February 8th as we craft some handmade valentines for homebound seniors in our greater Richmond community. After church, grab a quick lunch and then meet us back at 2810: a community gathering place starting at 12pm as we pull out craft supplies and let YOU get creative sharing the loving with our community.

You can also “Sponsor a Senior” by donating $5 to cover the cost of sending along a teddy bear along with our handmade valentines, using the form below. This is totally optional and not required to attend the event!

(This is a family-friendly event, but please note: All children should be accompanied by a responsible adult able to help in the creation of their valentines.)

We are continuing the warm and cozy winter vibes with a cozy craft night on Friday, February 6th from 6:30-8:30pm!

Do you have a project sitting around that you have been meaning to work on, but just can't find the time? Well, we have the space for you! Whether it's crocheting, sewing, painting, quilling, calligraphy, or coloring, bring your project and join other crafters for a free craft space. We'll circle up on a dark and cozy night to share what we're working on while listening to calming music, with a gently crackling faux-fireplace on the TV. (Pssst! Gentle reminder: No glitter or excessively messy craft projects allowed.)

As the cold settles in, we’re making space for warmth, stories, and unhurried time. Join us for Once Upon A Winter, an afternoon dedicated to reading in good company. Hot cocoa, tea, and coffee will be provided—just bring a blanket, your current read (or a long-neglected one), and find a cozy nook to curl up in. Studio 3 will be set aside for optional book discussions, while the rest of 2810: a community gathering place will be open for quiet, companionable silence alongside fellow book lovers

Guys: Prep your stomachs, gather your crew, and join us for our annual Men's Chili Cook-off. Whether you're a master chef or just love devouring delicious chili, this event is for you! You don't need to enter a chili to enjoy the bowls of goodness. There will also be a cornhole tournament for those who'd rather compete for athletic prowess. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 chilis. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Drinks will be provided, along with TUMS for those who like it extra spicy!

Calling all young adults to join us at 2810: a community gathering place for a lively evening of fun and competition at our Young Adult Board Game Night! Bring your friends and unleash your strategic prowess as we dive into a world of thrilling tabletop adventures. Whether you're into intense strategy games or uproarious party favorites, there's something for everyone. No RSVP required - Just come hang out and play some games!

Join us for a fun and friendly night of Music Trivia at 2810: a community gathering place, featuring six themed rounds across multiple genres. Whether you’re a trivia regular or just in it for the laughs, grab some friends, sign up, and get ready for a great night together. You can play solo or form a team of up to six players.

Snacks and beverages will be provided to keep the energy up—and if the party’s still going strong, the night may even turn into karaoke.

Childcare is not provided, but older kids and teens are welcome to participate. 

Every year, we take the Sunday morning after Christmas to rest and spend time with our family and friends. Therefore, we will not have a worship service at the Byrd on Sunday, December 28th. We will see you again in the new year on Sunday, January 4th to begin a new message series called "Dear God, Don't Let _______ Destroy Us".

Join us for our annual Christmas Eve Service on Wednesday, December 24 at 4:00 PM at The Byrd Theatre! Invite your family and friends to join us, and come early to enjoy some hot cocoa, freshly made cookies, and a 15-minute musical Christmas interlude from the Byrd Theatre's own Bob Gulledge on the Mighty Wurlitzer before the service begins!

Please note: This service will be in-person only, with no A10 KIDS programming at 2810. Instead, children of all ages are welcome to join us at the Byrd Theatre as we celebrate Christmas Eve together as a faith community.

We recognize that while Christmas is a time for a celebration, for many people it is a reminder of the people we have lost over the past year. So, this year we will take some time in our weekly worship service on Sunday, December 21st to honor and grieve the hard things and remember the loved ones who are no longer with us, while still bearing in mind the love and hope of Jesus.

Bundle up and join us for a cozy outdoor winter Worship Night for the whole community we are calling “Caroling on Cary” on Wednesday, December 3rd at 6:30pm!

We’ll gather outside at 2810: a community gathering place for a peaceful evening of traditional Christmas carols, hot cocoa, and simple Christmas crafts for all ages—including Advent paper chains and wooden ornaments.

Bring a friend, grab a warm coat, and come enjoy music, creativity, and community under the winter sky. We’d love to worship with you!

Are you a sucker for Christmas music? Do you LOVE the time of year when you get to pull down all the holiday decor, string up garland, and trim the tree? Does your spouse adamantly oppose decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving but you just need to get those wiggles out?

Plan to stick around on Sunday, November 23 after church to help us Deck the Halls as we decorate our beautiful space at 2810: a community gathering place for the holidays. Help us put together our 10ft Christmas tree, string garland along the banisters, and hang wreaths from every available surface. We will crank up the Christmas jams, feed you a tasty pizza lunch, and let you spread your holiday cheer all over 2810.

Area 10's Family Dedications are the beginning of a partnership between your family and ours, and we want to make sure we’re doing all that we can to support and encourage your family as you grow.
It all kicks off with a special dinner at 2810 on Thursday, November 20th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm (2810 W. Cary Street). This is also a great opportunity to meet your tribe of fellow parents and get to know a little more about our family ministry. It is strongly encouraged that families attend this dinner as we will speak to the vision of family ministry at A10 and the role of the parent in discipling their child. We will also talk about what to expect on the day of the Family Dedication. 

Then, on the morning of November 30th, families are asked to arrive at 9:45am in order to ensure everyone is in attendance. You will check in with TJ Owen, A10 Family Minister, under the East stairwell in the Byrd lobby, just outside of the women's restroom.

The Flannel Fam Jam is NEXT Wednesday, November 19th, and we need your help! This is the most anticipated student event of the year, and it's always one of our highest attended events we have in A10 Students. This makes it a great outreach opportunity for middle and high school students to bring their friends.

With that said, this event cannot be great without the support of people like you. Would you be willing to sign-up to bring and/or serve food for our friends-giving portion of the night (6:15pm - 7:30pm), or help facilitate one of our activity booths for the games portion of the night (7:00pm - 8:15pm)?

Join us as we gather together to support local families experiencing food insecurity with the help of the Replenish Foundation. Every quarter, we put together dozens of snack packs that will be given discreetly to kids to slip into their backpacks to help them make it through the long weekends at home.

We all want to experience the peace that passes understanding, as scripture talks about, but it's hard to find. This year, we will explore the topic of finding peace and discovering the secret of contentment, regardless of our circumstances.

Join us for fantastic speakers, small group discussions, worship, fun activities, great food, and more! We'll kick off the morning at 9am and wrap up by 5pm, but you are welcome to join us to grab dinner in Carytown, and then come back and relax around the firepits at 2810 after we wrap up.

Every year, our Area 10 Family Ministries plans an outdoor movie night at 2810: a community gathering place for all families in our community! This year, we will be showing FINDING NEMO on the big screen in the courtyard on Friday, October 17.

For even more family fun, we'll have a "create your own box car" time from 6:00pm - 6:45pm. Just bring a cardboard box big enough for each of your kiddos, and we'll provide all of the supplies. We'll help you transform those boxes into drive-in movie box cars. Be sure to bring a lawn chair for those of you who won't be in box cars! You may also want to bring a blanket or cushion for your kiddo to sit on in their box. Showtime begins at 7PM!

The cost is $5 per adult and $3 per child. The price includes a bag of popcorn and drink. Additional concessions will also be available before and during the movie.

Join us for a night of friendly competition at Topgolf! We’ll spend two hours hitting golf balls, cheering each other on, and enjoying some quality time together in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned player or have never picked up a club before, Topgolf is easy to jump into and designed for everyone to have a great time.

Food and drinks are available for purchase, so bring a little extra if you’d like to eat while we play. This is a chance not only to test your swing but also to connect with others, laugh, and make memories.

We’ll meet on Tuesday, October 14 from 7:00–9:00 PM at Topgolf Richmond. The cost is $30.00 per person. Grab a spot, bring a friend, and get ready for an evening that’s all about fun and community!

MEAL PACKING FOR FOX ELEMENTARY

In December of 2023, we raised over $30,000 to serve three local community organizations, including the Replenish Foundation. One of the things we are able to do with those funds is plan quarterly meal-packing events with Replenish to benefit kids experiencing food insecurity at Fox Elementary.

Come join us on Saturday, August 2 at 10am, where we will be able to pack snack bags for teachers to pack in the bookbags of kids experiencing food insecurity for them to take home on Fridays. This is a fun, family-friendly way to give back to our Richmond Community!
