Have you ever wanted to read the Bible with more confidence but weren’t sure where to begin? This four-week class will give you practical tools for understanding Scripture on your own.

Together, we’ll explore how the Bible is organized, learn simple methods for reading and interpreting passages in context, practice listening for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and discover how God’s Word connects to everyday life. Whether you’re brand new to the Bible or looking to deepen your understanding, this class will equip you to read with greater confidence and purpose.

If you started attending Area 10 in the last few months and your aren't sure what's next for you on your faith journey, or your just looking for ways to get more involved, we’d love to see you at our Next Steps Lunch on Sunday, August 30 from 11:30-12pm!

It's a great opportunity to get to know the staff, ask any lingering questions, meet new friends, and learn how to get more involved in the life of our church. We’ll share essential info about our ongoing ministries, small groups, volunteer opportunities, and other upcoming events to help you grow your faith and find community at Area 10.

As a new school year begins, we are inviting our entire faith community to gather for an evening of prayer and worship on Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30 PM at 2810: a community gathering place (2810 W. Cary Street).

Whether your family attends public school, private school, homeschools, is in college, works in education, or simply wants to support the next generation, we'd love for you to join us. Together we'll worship and pray over our students (elementary through college) and their families as they step into a new academic year.

In December, our faith community pulled together to support the ongoing ministries of Christian Student Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University (CSF@VCU) and we raised enough money to completely renovate their student space! Over the summer, volunteers have been helping paint, install new flooring, and put together brand new furniture and (drumroll please) ... it is finally ready to be unveiled!

We are being invited to preview the updates THIS Sunday, August 16th anytime between 5-7 PM at the newly renovated CSF@VCU offices (611 W. Cary Street). We want to use this time to pray over the space, the students, and the coming year of ministry opportunities at VCU. We hope you'll join us.

Please note: On-street parking is free on weekends, but pay attention to parking signs to avoid No Parking zones. Look for a yard sign pointing down a sidewalk in between buildings 609 and 611 W. Cary Street. VCU students will be outside helping visitors find the building.

Slow down and savor one of the world's great breakfast traditions! Join us on Saturday, August 15th at 10:00am at 2810 for a special Turkish Breakfast, called Kahvaltı. Turkish breakfast is more than a meal—it's an experience. Expect a delicious spread of breads, cheeses, fruits, spreads, and other traditional favorites shared family-style!

During the brunch, the Brent family (who actively serve as missionaries) will also share about the next chapter of their work and life in Turkey, offering a unique opportunity for you to hear stories, ask questions, and learn more about the people and culture that have become such an important part of their journey.

Space is limited to 32 participants. The cost is $15 per person, which covers the meal. This event is intended for adults and older teens curious about overseas missions. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to enjoy a morning that nourishes both body and soul.

This workshop highlights three areas in relationship couples can utilize to improve connection, especially during seasons of busyness and/or high stress. This seminar will equip you with real tools based on research from the Gottman Institute and includes three breakout sessions that allow the couples to work on techniques in real time. Whether you’re in a stressful season or preparing your marriage for the future, Miriam Bott, M.A., LPC of Real Wellness Christian Counseling will give you helpful and practical advice for keeping your marriage healthy and strong through the rough waters of life. $50 per couple.

Have you ever wondered how to show up more intentionally for the people you care most about, whether it be a friend, spouse, child, neighbor, or coworker? Have you ever left a conversation wishing you had connected a little more meaningfully? Or do you ever find yourself at a loss for what to say when someone you care for is hurting or stressed? In this one-evening seminar, we will consider how human beings are designed by God to connect, and explore the dynamics of having “Redemptive Conversations” that lead to more openness and authenticity (and what unintentional habits can actually get in the way). $10 per person.

Ladies, join us for a refreshing prayer walk on Saturday, May 30th at Bryan Park (4308 Hermitage Rd, Richmond, VA)! We will meet up near the soccer fields at Shelter #3 at 9:30 AM - We’ll provide prayer prompts for our church and city as you walk—whether with friends or at your own pace. Let’s connect, pray, and enjoy the beauty of the morning together! Then, after our prayer walk, feel free to enjoy the RVA Big Market nearby before you leave.

If you are college-aged up through your twenties, we invite you to join the Young Adult Ministry on the third Friday of every month as we get together to build community and learn to live like Jesus in RVA.

This month, we are meeting up at Forest Hill Park to enjoy a few fun rounds of Pickleball! Join us Friday, May 15 at 6:30PM at the pickleball courts behind the Old Stone House (4021 Forest Hill Ave, Richmond, VA). If you have a paddle, be sure to bring it, but we will have some spares on hand to share!

FAMILY DEDICATION | SUNDAY, MAY 10

Area 10's Family Dedications are the beginning of a partnership between your family and ours, and we want to make sure we’re doing all that we can to support and encourage your family to disciple your children to know Christ as they grow up.

It all kicks off with a special dinner at 2810 on Monday, May 4th, which is a great opportunity to meet your tribe of fellow parents and get to know a little more about our family ministry! We will speak to the vision of family ministry at A10 and the role of the parent in discipling their child, and what to expect on the day of the Family Dedication.

Then, on the morning of May 10th, families are asked to arrive at a little early and then we will bring you out on stage to dedicate your children to the church, most importantly, and to the Lord.
To participate, please register your family by Sunday, May 3rd.

What does it look like to love God with all your strength? This year, as we center ourselves on Jesus’ words—loving God with our whole hearts, souls, minds, and strength—we’re kicking things off with a night that leans into that last word in a fun, unexpected way.

Join us on Friday, April 24th at 7PM for an evening of axe-throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House as we explore what it means to be women of strength—not just physically, but spiritually. Together, we’ll reflect on how God has uniquely equipped us, what it looks like to stand firm in faith, and how we can step into the quiet, steady courage of being warriors for Christ in our everyday lives. This is a "bring your own dinner" event, so feel free to use this as an excuse to finish up those leftovers in your fridge or grab something on your way as we come together for a lovely spring picnic (we also encourage you to bring a blanket to sit on). We will be meeting at the Robins Nature Center at 6:30. Hope to see you there!

Throughout the weekend, there will be LIVE mural painting, free food, interactive activities for kids and adults, and free and low-cost workshops to practice new creative skills.

DAY 3: FAMILY FUN DAY!

FREE Family-Friendly Arts & Crafts for all ages!

Wrap up the weekend with a joyful afternoon of family-friendly arts and crafts! This relaxed, come-and-go event is perfect for kids, teachers, parents, grandparents, and anyone who loves to create.

Area 10 small groups will host creation stations for kids of all ages. Activities may include simple crafts, such as tie-dye, paper airplanes, pipe cleaner creations, rock painting, and repurposing simple recycled objects. Exact projects may vary.

ALSO: FREE lunch of hot dogs, chips, and drinks provided from 12-1pm!

Start the weekend with a vibrant community arts festival kickoff in the heart of Richmond! Join us for an evening of live music, free food, and interactive art experiences designed for all ages and skill levels.

Watch creativity come to life as our featured mural artist begins a brand-new public mural, and don’t just watch—jump in and help paint! Whether you're a seasoned artist or just curious to try something new, this is a welcoming space to create.

A MEAL OF REMEMBRANCE: MAUNDY THURSDAY

On Thursday, April 2nd, we will be gathering in homes around Richmond to share a meal of celebration and remembrance of Jesus’s final days on earth. As Jesus gathered his disciples for a meal in the Upper Room, we will be gathering together with other believers to help us grow intentional communities built on faith. Each gathering will share a potluck meal, take communion together, and spend time enjoying community with one another.

Help us fight hunger! We are gathering together to support local families experiencing food insecurity with the help of the Replenish Foundation. Come join us on Saturday, March 28 at 10am for a meal packing event to be distributed to families at Fox Elementary.

Every quarter, we put together dozens of snack packs that will be given discreetly to kids to slip into their backpacks to help them make it through the long, sometimes hungry weekends at home without school lunches. This is a fun, family-friendly way to give back to our Richmond Community!

Join us at Bowtie Cinemas on North Arthur Ashe Blvd for a screening of He Calls Me Daughter, a documentary exploring the lasting impact of father wounds and the healing found in our Heavenly Father. Meet at 6:00 PM, film at 6:15 PM, tickets $12.25. This night is for all men, not just fathers. Understanding the experiences of the women in our lives helps us love well and live out the gospel with wisdom and care. Come watch and join the conversation.

Join us on a Friday night for a warm bowl of soup, conversation, and board games. Attendee's are asked to bring a soup to share, about 6-8 servings, and take home containers if they'd like. Bring your favorite homemade, store-bought, or restaurant soup to share (no judgement)! We will have a selection of board games on hand, but you are welcome to bring your own to share and play.

Ladies can choose to join us for just brunch, just the hike, or both! We'll gather for brunch after church on Sunday, March 1 at New York Deli, followed by a hike of the North Bank - Buttermilk trail. If you're not having brunch with us, just meet at the Pump House parking lot at 1:15pm for the round trip 6 mile hike.

New York Deli brunch costs roughly $15-20 and the hike is free. We estimate the hike to take about 3 hours (2 miles per hour). For this reason, we don't recommend this event for children, but teens are welcome.

It will most likely be cold, so dress in layers that you can keep on or take off during the hike. Comfortable sneakers or hiking boots are recommended, along with a water bottle. We can carpool from Carytown if anyone would like to ride together.

Hygge is a word in Danish and Norwegian that describes a cozy, contented mood evoked by comfort and conviviality. This gathering at Joseph & Brianne’s home in North Chesterfield will celebrate things cozy! Anyone is welcome. Wear your cozy sweaters and bring a cozy blanket and a good book or craft to work on. We'll have plenty of hot drinks, candles, puzzles, games, snuggly cats, and cozy conversations. Weather permitting, we'll have a fire pit going as well.

Please note: Since this event takes place in a private home, the address will be sent out after your registration is confirmed.

Join us at 6:30am or 12pm at 2810: a community gathering place as we gather amidst the hustle and bustle in the middle of our week to reflect on the earthly binds that tie us, and pray for our faith community and the global church.

Registration is requested but not required. (Letting us know you are coming is helpful in the planning process, but this event is welcome to everyone, even if you decide to come at the last minute.)
