"When Helping Hurts" - Sundays at 8:15AM (Carytown)
When Helping Hurts offers a different framework for thinking about poverty and its alleviation. Rather than simply defining it as a lack of material things, we will read “When Helping Hurts” by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert and address the roots of poverty: broken relationships with God, self, others, and the rest of creation. Led by Topher Lytle before church in the mezzanine of the Byrd Theatre.
Cost of the book is $22, which you can purchase from Amazon here: https://a.co/d/dLhGAYr

When You Pray - Women's Book Study - (Randolph)
Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone.
In this 7-session study, we will study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. This women’s study of “When You Pray" (written by multiple authors including Jen Wilkin and Jackie Hill Perry) will be led by Amy Martinez and hosted by Kelly Sanders.

Starting Point - Mondays, 6:30PM (Carytown)
Church might not sound like the best place to voice your doubts or ask questions about God, but we think it should be. Starting Point is a gathering where your questions about God turn into a conversation about faith. In a Starting Point group, you can discuss your doubts and explore the trickiest topics of faith, free from pressure and judgment.
This 8-week group will be led by Tom & Martha Heiser and start on Monday, June 19th. The materials/supplies for this small group are provided by Area 10 Faith Community.
