Chris Barras grew up just north of Tampa, Florida before attending Cincinnati Christian University. Chris and his wife Abby moved to Colorado and then Virginia Beach to serve at churches. The Barras Family moved to Richmond in January 2006 where Chris worked full-time at Starbucks and part-time with a great church plant in Short Pump. In March 2008, Chris left those jobs to launch Area 10 Faith Community. Today when he's not working for the church, Chris enjoys NFL football, golf, soccer, music, reading, and hanging out with his wife and three sons.

Joaquin lives in the Northside of Richmond with my wife, Amy, and their dog, Bagel. They also have five adult children are enjoying being empty nesters some weeks and hosts to a houseful of young adults others. They also enjoy pouring lots of love and energy into their grandson, Augustine. In his free time, Joaquin enjoys spending time getting to know people by listening to their stories and serving wherever he can.

Riley lives in Chesterfield with his wife, Amber, and their two kids, Willow and Hawthorne, with a third on the way! They have been plugged in at A10 since 2020. Riley enjoys playing football, soccer, music, and learning new things in his free time. He is a big Liverpool fan, and you can sometimes find him at Penny Lane Pub with a pint watching the match.

Patrick grew up in Mechanicsville, VA, and met his wife, Katherine, at Virginia Commonwealth University. He started attending Area 10 through a connection with the Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) at VCU. He and Kat have two children, Mitchell and Bella. In his free time, Patrick enjoys acquiring new hobbies, like beekeeping, carpentry, making sick dad jokes, and juggling. When asked what he wishes people knew about him, he responded, "I love this city and this church. I’m excited to see what God has in store for us!"

Tom Scott grew up in Long Island, New York, but now lives in the West End with his wife, Stephanie. He attended Cincinnati Christian University and served as a minister in the Hampton Roads area for several years until he and his wife moved to Richmond and started attending Area 10 seven years ago. He and Stephanie have three grown children, and four grandkids. In his free time, he enjoys time with family, bike riding, and going to the beach or the RVA Riverfront Canal Walk. He has the unique and inviable talent of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone!

Brandon grew up in Roanoke, VA but now lives in the Atlee area with his wife, Kristen. He is a CPA by trade, but now helps organizations from Virginia and all across the nation with their accounting and finance talent solutions needs.  They have regular attendees at Area 10 for years and can be found hiking, floating the river, watching Hokie football, or playing outside with their toddler son, Noah.  Brandon loves this city, this church, and enjoys helping people connect to God, find their people, and change the world.
