INSPIRED: A Community Arts Festival

WHY CREATE AN ARTS FESTIVAL?

At Area 10 Faith Community, we believe that we are created in the image of a creative God and that one of the ways we can glorify Him is through using our God-given creativity and talents to make the world a better place.

That is why we are hosting a weekend-long arts festival for our Richmond community from Friday, April 10th through Sunday, April 12th!

Throughout the weekend, there will be LIVE mural painting, free food, interactive activities for kids and adults, and free and low-cost workshops to practice new creative skills. Check out the full schedule below:

HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN…

Here are the current serving areas where we need help:

- Community Engagement: Hand out information to passerby about the event, inviting them to join in the fun, and answering questions about the event.

- Chalk Art Station: Welcome kids and adults to express their creativity through chalk art on our property! Help keep chalk supplies organized and tidy when not in use.

- Paint-by-Number Station: Help participants paint a large community paint-by-numbers kit of the Richmond skyline! Keep brushes clean and freshen water as needed.

- Rock Painting Station: Provide help as participants use paint pens to paint inspirational rocks they can take home or set out in a public place.

- Set Up & Tear Down: Help with the heavy lifting at the start/end of the day as we keep our art supplies safe and sidewalks clear when the festival shuts down for the night.

- Food Prep: Help prepare, cook, or distribute free food to festival participants, or even go on a coffee run to keep our mural artists fueled up!

CREATED TO CREATE:

At Area 10, we believe that we are created in the image of a creative God and that one of the ways we can glorify Him is through using our creativity to make the world a better place.

The first five words of the Bible are, “In the beginning, God created…” and soon after it is said that “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Those two verses alone tell us an incredible amount about both God and ourselves.

About Area 10 Faith Community

Area 10 Faith Community is a non-denominational church located in the Carytown neighborhood of Richmond, made up of people who are learning how to follow Jesus in real, everyday life. We gather to worship and learn together at the Byrd Theatre in Carytown at 10am every Sunday, and throughout the week to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and serve our city.

At our core, we believe Richmond is a place worth loving—and that it becomes even better when people choose to love it beyond reason. That’s why we’re committed not just to what happens inside a church building, but to being present in our neighborhoods, partnering with local organizations, and creating spaces (like Common Ground) that bring people together.

If you’re curious to learn more, explore upcoming events, or get connected, we’d love to invite you to visit us online or join us in person. Wherever you’re coming from, there’s room for you here.

ABOUT 2810: A COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACE

2810: a community gathering place is a community-centered space in the heart of Carytown designed to bring people together—to work, collaborate, and build something meaningful for the city we love. Throughout the week, 2810 serves as a flexible workspace and event venue, offering a variety of environments—from cozy meeting rooms to larger spaces for workshops, performances, and community events. It’s intentionally designed to feel warm and welcoming, blending comfortable spaces with creative energy.
